Buffalo Niagara International Airport
Baggage Claim Renovation & Expansion
Azar Design Co provided architectural design and surveying services for renovations to the baggage claim area of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. The project encompassed the construction of a 2-story addition adjacent to the east and west sides of the main entrance of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
The new space houses relocated administration offices, restrooms, baggage offices, loading docks, concession space, baggage handling space, and storage. Existing space on the arrivals level were renovated to convert baggage claim carrousels to sloped plate type and add a fourth carousel.
The project opens space on the departures level to expand the security checkpoint, while a new covered passageway shelters travelers coming through international arrivals. Improved circulation and passenger flow was achieved in separating passenger arrivals and departures.
Azar also provided on-site Construction Management support services under a separate contract.
