As part of a parks-focused capital investment plan throughout Buffalo, the City invested $23 million in these grounds to create a year-round destination for athletic, educational, and recreational activities. Masten Park sits on a once Olmsted-designed space with historical roots before a school was built over the original landscape. The renovated complex now features a blend of indoor and outdoor community spaces.

New amenities include upgraded athletic turf and sports fields, a swimming pool and splash pad, playgrounds and indoor facilities for year-round gatherings anchor the neighborhood, providing safe, accessible programming for youth and their families. Landscaping features, lighting, and accessibility improvements enhance pedestrian safety and vehicular circulation.

Azar’s civil engineers led the design for grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, SWPPP, and downstream sewer analysis. Our team works closely with the prime consultant to assist with site/landscape detailing for site features including retaining walls, walkways, curbs, pavement, stairs, and ADA ramps.

The Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing and Fire Protection services bring safety and efficiency to renovation upgrades within the gymnasium, locker rooms, toilet rooms, ticket booth and press box. Other renovations include ceiling replacement of the North Tower, pathway lighting design, and coordination of sports field lighting.

Azar’s survey team provided topographic and boundary surveys.
