Schenectady Central Park Pool
Seasonal Pool & Bathhouse
Azar Design Co was subcontracted by Saratoga Associates to bring functional design elements to a state-of-the-art pool complex at Central Park for the City of Schenectady. The project features a new pool house, a modern pool with advanced filtration and lighting, a splash pad for young children, and enhanced parking and pedestrian access.
Aquatic amenities include lap lanes, a zero-entry area, wading, resistance walk, and jet features.
Ample seating, picnic spaces, and lawns surround the pool’s perimeter, with connectivity enhancements including bicycle racks, a new parking lot, and sidewalks as part of overall park improvements project.
Our site/civil engineering team collaborated closely with landscape architects to develop a cohesive design including site utilities, public water and sanitary sewer main extensions, stormwater management, utility permitting, and the design of a new sanitary sewer pump station.
Azar’s building systems engineering team designed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for the pool house, pool, and splash park, ensuring seamless integration with utility providers and pool equipment consultants.
Our structural engineering team designed the pool house structure featuring concrete masonry bearing walls, steel-framed roof structures, and pole supports for shade structures.
