Sr. Construction Inspector – Street Scape Project, Amsterdam, NY
Azar Design Co is seeking experienced full-time Sr. Construction Inspector to provide full-time construction inspection and documentation services for a street scape project located in City of Amsterdam. The project includes updating the streetscape to include ornamental lighting, street trees, pedestrian facilities upgrade, access road reconfiguration, intersection redesigns for enhanced pedestrian safety, and hardscapes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as Owner’s field representative for construction oversight activities.
- Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract plans, specifications, permits, NYSDOT requirements.
- Coordinate work and communications with County, EIC and contractors.
- Maintain Engineer’s Diary, daily reports, field documentation, photographs, quantity records, and project files in accordance with NYSDOT MURK requirements.
- Verify quantities and support processing of payment requisitions.
- Monitor maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT/WZTC) operations and overall project safety.
- Coordinate material testing, quality assurance, and material acceptance documentation.
- Attend and participate in progress and coordination meetings.
- Track project schedule and compliance.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum NICET Level III certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of civil construction inspection experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience serving as Construction Inspector, or similar construction oversight role.
- Knowledge of NYSDOT Standard Specifications, Construction Inspection Manual (CIM), Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK), and Contract Administration Manual (CAM).
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, schedules, and construction contracts.
- Experience with bridge construction, structural concrete, steel erection, driven piles, roadway reconstruction, and utility coordination preferred.
- OSHA Training preferred.
- Travel on the jobsite may be required.
- Availability for 8 to 10 hr work shifts.
- Valid Driving license, reliable vehicle and current US Work eligibility required.
Pay Range:
$50 to $60, Actual pay rate will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications, experience and specific assignment.
